Managing Attorney Sarah Bernard Selected for Leadership Academy
Thursday August 4, 2016
Sarah Bernard was chosen for The Missouri Bar Leadership Academy 2016-2017. Sarah serves as Managing Attorney of the West Plains office.
The academy, now in its 17th year, seeks diversity in gender, race, area of practice, and locality of practice with the goal of including attorneys from underrepresented areas to broaden and strengthen The Missouri Bar.
Members of each year's Leadership Academy class participate in the Missouri Bar Annual Meeting, Board of Governors meetings, committee meetings, and workshops specifically designed for the Leadership Academy. For one year, the members work closely with bar leaders to learn more about the Missouri Bar, cultivate leadership skills, and develop a public service project. Members take full responsibility for completing their public service project before the end of the class year. At the end of the year, members commit to serve the Missouri Bar in an active capacity for two years.
Sarah received her Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law and her Bachelors of Science from Truman State University. Prior to joining LSSM in 2013, Sarah worked for the Missouri State Public Defender in West Plains and Kirksville. Sarah serves on the West Plains Library Board of Directors and has been involved in Sweats for Vets, Stand Down for Vets and Relay for Life.
